Avery Gerle
CANFree Development Team Lead Coach
Will Furgeson
FUNdamentalz Coach

Avery started skiing at only 2 years old. Avery’s Mom always says, “he was born with skis attached!”.  Avery's early years of skiing were spent on racing teams at COP, Nakiska, and then finally at Panorama.  It was in his last year of racing that Avery discovered his passion for freestyle.  The idea of being able to bring his own creativity and style to his skiing intrigued him. After race training he would come running in and change out of race skis, and into his park skis! He would stay in the park until the mountain closed, well after dark! It is where his heart lies!

Avery has competed on two occasions in Junior Nationals for both slopestyle and moguls as well as in the Canadian Series!

He is excited to share his love of all aspects of skiing with the youngsters that love the sport like he does! When it comes to skiing, “If you are not having fun, you’re not doing it right!”

Megan Elekes
FUNdamentalz and Freestylerz Coach

Megan began skiing when she was only 2 years old, and joined Freestyle Panorama when she was 7! Having always loved skiing all over the mountain, she eventually chose to specialize in moguls. Megan competed for 3 years on the BC Timber Tour with the Panorama Competitive Team. During this time, she competed at the BC Winter Games, attended two Canada Cups, and qualified in moguls for Jr. Nationals in Quebec. Megan also won "Best Overall Moguls" for the F18 category at the end of the 2018/19 Timber Tour season. This season - 2019/20 - Megan is very excited to try her hand at coaching and to pass her skills on to the younger groups.  Megan hopes to inspire other girls to take up freestyle skiing!

Will grew up up loving skiing - all types of skiing.  After eight years as an athlete with Freestyle Panorama, he decided in 2018/19 to focus his efforts on coaching.  Will is excited to share his passion of Freestyle skiing with the next generation of Freestyle Panorama shredders.

Skylar Mountford
Freestylerz Coach

Skylar has skied Panorama since he was 3 years old and has participated in both Team Panorama as well as Freestyle Panorama He quickly moved to instructing as soon as he was 14. No matter which resort he skis, Panorama's steep and tree-covered terrain is still where he calls home. Skylar got his start teaching and coaching at WinSport in 2016.  As of the 2019/20 season, Skylar is pleased to call FPSC home.  Skylar loves spreading knowledge of the sport, hopes to show everyone the fun of skiing and explore the hidden spots across the hill that he has discovered.  Whether it's carved turns on a groomer, features in the terrain park, or bumps and booters in Taynton Bowl he loves it all!

Deb started skiing late in life—at 14 years old!  She moved to Invermere as a young adult.  It was here in Invermere that she started her family - three kids, each of which she had upright on skis as soon as they could walk.  Her kids trained her well to be the excellent FUNdamentals coach she is today.  Of course, it wasn't only the kids that trained her.  She also has qualifications through CSIA and CFSA.  Coaching kids in the Freestyle way and having the privilege of introducing them to the fun and safety of snow parks is her passion.  Deb started with the club in 2010 and is very happy to call Freestyle Panorama her home.
